- As Always, Julia. The letters between Julia Child and Avis DeVoto, as Julia worked on the cookbook.
- Enslaved by Ducks, Bob Tarte. A friend said this was a "bedshaker," meaning her husband was laughing silently as he read it in bed. Pretty funny, but I thought they were crazy to have so many poultry pets.
- The Heretic's Daughter, Kathleen Kent
- In the Company of Others, Jan Karon. Father Tim in Ireland.
- I Still Dream About You, Fannie Flagg
- The Lost Hero, Rick Riordan
- Louisa May Alcott, Susan Cheever
- Mockingjay, Suzanne Collins.
- The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake, Aimee Bender. I wonder what she'd taste in my cooking?
- The Wolves of Andover, Kathleen Kent. Prequel to The Heretic's Daughter.

Wow, I feel like an idiot for not having any of these on my shelf. Have I asked if you review these on GoodReads or Facebook or here?
Bless the library! No, I don't write reviews -- I am terrible at them. It's an ordeal for me to come up with even one sentence sometimes.
Yes, we are kind of crazy to have that many ducks, geese, chickens, other birds, and cats. And I'm glad you enjoyed the craziness. Thanks so much for mentioning my book "Enslaved by Ducks." There's a sequel called "Fowl Weather," and I just finished writing a book about our six cats called "The Funnel of Happiness," which should be out in about a year. - Bob Tarte
Wow, did you see a real author left a comment? He made my day! Darn it though, I don't want to have to wait a year for his cat book.
I've heard the Julia book is great. I'll put it on my to-read list!
