- Ape House by Sara Gruen.
- The Confession by John Grisham. I haven't read Grisham in a long time -- this was good.
- Extra Lives by Tom Bissell. How video games matter. My kids tell me that all the time.
- A Gate at the Stairs by Lorie Moore. A nanny story.
- The Hundred Foot Journey by Richard Morais.
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I'm hooked.
- The Kids are All Right by Diana and Liz Welch. Memoir of four kids dealing with the loss of their parents.
- Legacy by Danielle Steel. Heroine loses her job and boyfriend, digs into her family's genealogy, and finds she is descended from a native american princess. Princess? That's Danielle Steel for you.
- My Hollywood by Mona Simpson. Another nanny story.
- Priceless by Nicole Richie. Good beach/fireplace read. Does she have a ghost writer, or can she really write?
- Spider Bones by Kathy Reichs.
- Star Island by Carl Hiassen. Not my favorite of his, but full of interesting characters.

I've heard a lot of people mention Ape House by Sara Gruen. I need to put this on my list, I think, since I loved her first book!
BTW, did you ever read "Violin" by Anne Rice? Man oh day, I was NOT smart enough to read that book and had to stop pretty early in. Either I wasn't smart enough, or arty enough, or SOMETHING.
