October 2010

I haven't got all my sentences written but October has been over for a while and I want to finish this post! Favorites are 1, 5 and 6.
  1. Ape House by Sara Gruen.
  2. The Confession by John Grisham. I haven't read Grisham in a long time -- this was good.
  3. Extra Lives by Tom Bissell. How video games matter. My kids tell me that all the time.
  4. A Gate at the Stairs by Lorie Moore. A nanny story.
  5. The Hundred Foot Journey by Richard Morais.
  6. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I'm hooked.
  7. The Kids are All Right by Diana and Liz Welch. Memoir of four kids dealing with the loss of their parents.
  8. Legacy by Danielle Steel. Heroine loses her job and boyfriend, digs into her family's genealogy, and finds she is descended from a native american princess. Princess? That's Danielle Steel for you.
  9. My Hollywood by Mona Simpson. Another nanny story.
  10. Priceless by Nicole Richie. Good beach/fireplace read. Does she have a ghost writer, or can she really write?
  11. Spider Bones by Kathy Reichs.
  12. Star Island by Carl Hiassen. Not my favorite of his, but full of interesting characters.

I've heard a lot of people mention Ape House by Sara Gruen. I need to put this on my list, I think, since I loved her first book!

BTW, did you ever read "Violin" by Anne Rice? Man oh day, I was NOT smart enough to read that book and had to stop pretty early in. Either I wasn't smart enough, or arty enough, or SOMETHING.
